Launching a differentiated brand in a cluttered and crowded category.
To launch a Chicago therapist's recovery and adventure-based-counseling practice, SmallGood did a little analysis of our own. Building on the insight that for many people in recovery, combining therapy with engaging outdoor activity could be the start of learning how to have fun – sober - we landed on a meaning for the brand that was provocative and quite different within the category: if life is meant to be an adventure, therapy should be too. This meaning statement became the north star and rallying cry of the practice.
Strategic work led to a brand personality that was also disruptive. So, we developed a brand identity, voice, and core messaging that were bold and fresh in the therapy space, reflecting the beauty and healing power of the outdoors and a sense of movement, both key tenets of the brand. This all helped the website we created for the practice stand out is a sea of therapy sameness. Social Media and blogs were created as well and by educating, engaging and inspiring prospective clients, the practice began to see healthy growth.
